The Experience

The newborn sessions will take place in the comfort of your own home. The sessions are very calm and relaxed and we will go with how your baby is feeling. Their comfort and yours are my priority. I will make sure to get all the details of your little one, so you will never forget the little hands, feet and other small things that grow so quickly. But mostly, I want to capture the natural interactions between baby and parents, the cries, the laughs, the tears and the chaos. If you are comfortable I can capture feeding sessions for you (breastfeeding, bottle feeding, tube feeding, whatever works best for your family), your postpartum body, because your body and you as a māmā have gone through an incredible journey and I want to make sure we celebrate this.

It can be daunting to have newborn photos taken in your home especially in their first few weeks. To welcome me into your sacred place is very special to me and I would love to document that time for you. I want to capture the piles of laundry and the milk stains on your shirt, if you allow me to do so. This session is for your family to celebrate and welcome your little one. We will talk about the emotions that you and your family have, the challenges and the joys, so that I can capture just the raw beauty of having a newborn.

Pricing

In home newborn packages start at $200 for 20 digital images.

Mini sessions available as well for $150 for 10 digital images.

FAQ

  • Every baby is different and we will go with the flow of your baby. We will take breaks and just see how they feel. If they need a feed in between to calm down, no problem. They will probably sleep most of the time as they are still so young.

  • No absolutely not. I love the chaos of a house with a newborn (and it’s probably even more chaotic if there are more kids at home!). So don’t worry about me. Just have your home the way it is. Laundry and all.

  • The focus will be on direct family, so māmā, pāpā, pēpi and any siblings (and fur siblings!). If you want more people in the session there will be an extra charge.

  • No, you don’t have to do anything. I just offer them, to celebrate your body beautifully. I will ask you on the day again, and you can decide then how you feel about it. Many māmās told me, once they finished breastfeeding how precious the photos are to them now that that chapter is over.
